Due to a death in the family I forgot to pay the bill. Power goes out. Call in to pay and they tell me it's an additional $110 on top of the bill for a reconnection fee. Something that takes very little effort and happens fast. This company really knows how to kick you when you're down. I guess that's how it goes when they know they're the only option.

After years of having Austin Energy, the difference is stark. Every time it rains, even a little, the power goes out with Bluebonnet. It sucks if you live in an apartment because you don't get a choice to choosr your proivder. Make sure you know which energy company your apartment or condo uses before signing a lease.

The absolute worse electric company…my sisters kids have asthma which require the use of nebulizers for emergencies, not to mention my sister lives off a fixed income due to brain cancer and this company doesn’t care about any of that when it comes to customers needing reconnection! My sister’s lights were disconnected at 9am due to non payment, she paid more than 75% of her past due bill by 1pm and asked for 5 days extra to pay the remainder and was told that was not an option because she now had an additional $110 reconnection fee!! $290 to $407 for a single mom on disability & a fixed income. Even after explaining each situation she was not in control of they still refused to turn her lights back on and give her an extension. They don’t offer any sort of senior or disability discounts nor optional payment programs. The saddest part of all once she pays her $156 remaining balance she will then have a $200 deposit owed on her next bill of $209!! IT’S OUTRAGEOUS ROBBERY because I helped my sister pay $310 on Nov 1st!! almost $1200 in less than 3 months…they’re the ONLY electric company option for my sisters small town I’m quite sure that’s why they force these ludicrous & mandatory fees and payments
…they care more about the money than they do their customers and that’s clear from many of these reviews

I've had the pleasure of Bluebonnet as my electric provider for the last year. I haven't needed to call them but a handful of times. The employees are friendly, polite and knowledgeable. Brenda took my payment by phone today, Cindy helped schedule my service disconnect. I just want to share my appreciation for them both and hope they are praised by management, they deserve it! Both were extremely thorough, repeating information for accuracy. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Thank you both! P.s. I will miss the Bluebonnet magazines. They were filled with lots of interesting articles. Keep up the great work.

Left house at 1400 electricity on came back at 1702 electricity off. Call immediately can not talk to a human being 2 min after 5. Pay bill online 2 hours ago still no electricity. My deposit is 3 times amount due. No disconnect notice. No phone call. This company is getting more and more ridiculous every year. I'm glad I have good neighbors who can house my dogs in this extreme heat but the 600$ in lost groceries is gonna hurt. I'm glad I can promptly pay my bill with no disconnect notice, but you can't turn my power back on promptly.

Worst customer service I’ve ever received, and I’ve lived in more then 5 counties throughout Texas. An older woman with glasses in their Manor location by the name of Laura is extremely rude and unprofessional. She speaks to minorities in a condescending tone, and does little to nothing helping them with payments. I interjected to help their customer, and instead of being appreciative, she treated me with the same attitude. Horrible employee, couldn’t answer any of my questions at all. Better off making all payments through phone. Bummer.

HOSTILE PEOPLE UNCONCERNED WITH HARMING OTHERS.

They turned my power off because I was a month late (I’m terminally I’ll and going through so much - forgetfulness is one of them) and no one called me or anything - and it’s ONE HUNDRED AND ONE degrees outside. When I got home it was 90 degrees and my dog was barely responsive. When I called I got told “whatever” about it.

She then told me those were normal temperatures for Texas and so it was okay. THATS NOT HOW HEAT STROKE WORKS. And the laws are meant to protect people from harmful and potentially deadly situations. There could have been a child inside. There could be two dead animals. I JUST SO HAPPENED to come home after an appointment.

MONSTERS. Didn’t even care my dog was near death from it. I will do everything in my power to make sure no one I know or meet uses them.
