Time-Share for Senior Citizens since perceived ownership is a share and not an asset? Soft-sell on maintenance but new condos will not need any for a few years. Share value increases less than one-third that of average real estate assets. Perpetual monthly payments which will increase over time is an interesting concept even after a significant down payment. Caveat Emptor!

Wanted to provide a real review, versus Matha Goram who obviously knows absolutely nothing about The Village Cooperative but is compelled to provide her opinion anyway. I am a member of the Village Cooperative of Allen. We will be moving into our facility around September 2024. Our building is top quality construction, built to last, provide accessibility and be sustained with a reasonable maintenance budget. Ownership is an asset and there will be 60 owners that will collectively make decisions regarding our community. The monthly fee includes owners portion of the master mortgage principle and interest, taxes as well as maintenance. As compared to single family or condo which have a separate mortgage payment, taxes and HOA The Village Cooperative monthly payment is combined. This is a different type of ownership model but is valid and well suited to Seniors that want to be part of an active adult community but not spending their free time on home and property maintenance. It may not be for everyone however we already have a strong community of great people and only 12 units left. Check it out, kick the tires but please dont' listen to a google troll that knows nothing about it.
