Nice place, cheap and in the middle of nowhere, looks like it was once a happening spot for campers and rivers, I did check the room first as it is dated, but the room was clean and huge,beds were comfortable and quiet, there is also a pool and hot tub, and it's called the Republic Hotel. We didn't use the pool or hot tub because we were on time limit, so I can't coment on those things. The price was right.

The location was isolated and the grounds were not kept up, was dirty. Room had sliding glass door that didn't work properly. It led outside to the pool. The swimming pool was filthy. Also the closet had sliding door that was off the rail on top, so it didn't slide open. The room was extremely smelly of cigarettes. There were gnats flying around in the bathroom. The carpet was dirty. There were flies and gnats on a trash can right outside the room, that had not been emptied out in awhile. Cheap price for the night but room was gross. Lady at the desk was nice and friendly. We did not stay there after all.

The name of this hotel is actually called the Republic hotel. They haven't changed their name on Google so I can see why some visitors end up staying here. This was the worse hotel I have ever stayed in... I've stayed in cleaner hostels in 3rd world countries than this place. Do yourself a favor and drive 2 more miles south and there's another hotel close by.
As soon as you enter you'll notice what looks like an abandoned RV park... there's garbage all over the parking lot when entering the hotel parking lot. Prices are not cheap compared to the quality of the hotel. Our room smelt like mold, and suprise there was mold and a huge hole on the ceiling in our room! The faucet in the bathroom would not stop leaking water and the carpet in the room felt wet and smelt horid. The bottom mattress was filthy and our sheets and pillow cases had stains on them. There's a patio door that meets into what's supposed to be the inside "pool area" but suprise the pool wasn't open. Our patio deck had cigarette butts all over the floor and the entire place was a health hazard. There's wild cats that roam inside the hotel pool room and outside everywhere. The jacuzzi was green and filed with 1/4 worth of water and the trees inside were growing through the roof... Breakfast was also included, but it was a joke. I was afraid to eat anything from this place anyways since it was so disgusting. These people obviously have no pride in their buisness and it should be shut down from the health department. Honestly it reminded of the end of the world.

Do not…I repeat, DO NOT stay here! Everything in the room was filthy; even the walls and doors. The sheets were covered with stains and the mattresses felt like boards. We didn’t want to touch anything in the room, and there was a gaping hole in the ceiling. We actually brought our guns into the room with us, as we felt unsafe. Sheriffs were patrolling the parking lot, and we were told they did that routinely. The pools were covered with a nasty film, and the hot tub had mold on the bottom. I can’t believe this hasn’t been shut down. This USED to be a Super 8, but it lost its flag because the Super 8 franchise didn’t want to be associated with this hotel. They still use the name Super 8 in there advertising, but they are not! We actually left after an hour of being in the room because we were so freaked out.

We made the mistake of making our reservation about an hour out of Ozona. Had we seen the property first, we would have kept on driving. Front desk personnel cordial, but the room was below average. We were tired, so stayed. I didnt even feel comfortable using the shower. The bed sheets were clean, so that was good. There is a potentially beautiful atrium pool area. Unfortunately, it too needed maintenance. To me, if a property is clean, I can overlook rundown. The next morning we pulled out the side chair from the table and found a dried spilled mess on the chair. NO excuse for that. I hate hurting anyone's business, but this place needs a thorough cleaning if nothing else.

I gave this 4 stars because my experience wasn't a bad one,but also wasn't excellent. Friendly staff but there were no towels and it was not stocked with coffee or shampoo&conditioner. Also the air conditioner above the door could use some cleaning because my allergies were going nuts. The perks were that when asked for missing items like the towels we were accommodated quickly and with a friendly smile. Also there is a little restaurant/gas station attached to this hotel which was super convenient because we could still have breakfast even though we missed the hotels complimentary breakfast. The beds were comfortable and prices in that area reasonable. ?

So some people got bad things in their room but the thing is all rooms are different while I actually had a good room with everything nice the towels smelled wierd but eh who cares, I also saw some reviews about bed bugs but there were none. The breakfast was amazing and the pool too, the pool was really cold though and there should be more floaties. But the wifi is absolute trash D: THE OTHER BAD THING WAS THAT THERE WERE LITERLY BABY KITTENS ON THE TREE OUTSIDE OF MY ROOM

Our room was spacious and very clean although it seemed a bit run down. Opening the rear sliding glass doors led is out to a beautiful Oasis like indoor pool and hot tub with plants everywhere. The only problem was the heater on the pool was broken and the hot tub was not working.
