This is not your grandparents’ library. Thomas Cooper Library is not only a beautiful building, it is a great place to study and research. There are plenty of Macs and PCs on levels 4-6 for use and printers can be found on those floors as well. The quiet floors are levels 1-3 and sometimes the other students are not quiet, but if you send a noise complaint to the library staff, they will take care of it. There are individual study carrels, group study rooms, classrooms and lots of seating. Interlibrary Loan is helpful and fast in locating items the library itself does not have. Having both the Career Center and Student Success Center locates in the library is an asset as well. You can get tutoring, find the resources you need for a class, and get help updating your resume and finding a job all in one place!

The staff is knowledgeable and will help you find what you need or direct you to someone who can if they are unable to. If you happen to need a little boost during your research or study time, there is a Starbucks on the main floor ready to serve your favorite latte. Due to their popularity and central location, sometimes they run out of items but the Starbucks staff is able to recommend a replacement which will work. If you have an interest in special exhibits, the Hollings Library has a great rotation of interesting exhibits throughout the year. “Justice for All” is the current one and is an absolutely fabulous and interesting look at the (continuing) fight for civil rights. It’s worth a visit.

Love Tcoop in its entirety. Nice seating and desk spaces for students, with really well kept-up restrooms and private conference spaces. Only issue you'll encounter is other students getting a bit loud and obnoxious at times, but it's really not a huge issue. Also, there's a starbucks and multiple vending machines on the first floor for long study sessions.

A+ Great place to study! The librarians are so nice and helpful to students, faculty & visitors. They really care about the wellbeing of students! The library is very PACKED during finals week and the Starbucks is lovely when you need a pick-me-up.

Amazing library that has architecture from the 60s or 70s if I am not mistaken. It has a great rectangular lake in the front with a rather bland fountain that shoots water out in a radial fashion. This is a nice typical collegiate style library.

I went and saw a civil rights history display that was sprawled out throughout the library and it was absolutely amazing.

Amazing facility with great resources! I'm wondering what happened to libraries being a mostly quiet place to read and study, though.

I am going to check out doing my homework on the bottom floors in the future to have a quiet place to read and do my homework. Some service staff and students are practically shouting into their phones or playing loud music, having no consideration or regard for anyone trying to read or concentrate on their work.

The best place to go to study as a USC student. Connection to WiFi is great, I've only found one area that has a touchy connection. Outlets are commonly placed everywhere so no power problems. Printers, computers with any software, even people who will help you with homework.
Only complaint: I understand Starbucks is a staple of college students, AND it is awesome they are open until 12 AM most days (inside the library), but Starbucks doesn't have the best prices or coffee ?

Great research-friendly library, I'm no longer an official student but they're open to visitors from 7:30 AM - 9 PM most days. Best place I know in Columbia for getting some writing and reading done. Also has great purified water available from a few of the fountains. Thank you USC!

Awesome library. I've been to a lot of meeting rooms and those are very nice and sound proof. Haven't borrowed any books yet. Technology meeting rooms are the best if you want to discuss program codes or presentations.
